Thought for the Week

Listening is more important than talking

If that were not true, God would not have given us TWO ears
& ONLY ONE mouth.

Provoked

I was awaiting this movie's release and finally went and watched it yesterday.

Did you know Provoked is based on a true incident? I honestly did not

All the characters esp Ash and her husband played their rolls very very well. Great going Ash. You are finally proving yourself to be not just a girl out from a beauty pageant. The language used, is what amazed me the most in the movie.

This is not a feminist movie.

Its about an Asian girl trying to obtain her freedom in a world of Whites.

Its about a wife who went through hell during marriage and her final act with her husband leads to life imprisonment. In truth, she experienced actual freedom only after her act of crime. Her fight to be with her children once again, created a new law in the British legal system.

It is a MUST watch movie, be it on big screen or small screen.

For all MUSHROOM LOVERS

Here's an amazingly yummy recipe, I experimented with
(from ndtv recipes site).

Do let me know if our taste is similar

Mushrooms in Hot Garlic Sauce (Chinese)

Ingredients:
200 gm mushrooms-button, wiped clean
2 tbsp oil
1/2 cup onions-chopped fine
3 tbsp garlic-chopped fine-ground
2-3 whole red peppers
spring onion leaves chopped fine for garnish

Mix together for sauce
2 tbsp corn flour-blended with water
1.5 salt
1/4 cup vinegar
1 tsp soya sauce
1 tbsp sugar
3/4 cup water

Method:
Heat the oil in a wok and add the onions, stir over high heat till a little soft. Add the garlic paste and red peppers and stir-fry till fat separates. Add the mushrooms and stir-fry over high heat, till well mixed. Add a cup of water, bring to a boil and add the sauce mixture and bring to a boil, stirring all the time.

Lower the heat and simmer for a minute or so and serve hot garnished with the greens.

Are you Job Secured????

A little boy went into a drug store, reached for a soda carton and
pulled it over to the telephone. He climbed onto the carton so that he could reach the buttons on the phone and proceeded to punch in seven digits. The store-owner observed and listened to the conversation:

The boy asked, "Lady, Can you give me the job of cutting your
lawn?
The woman replied, "I already have someone to cut my lawn."
"Lady, I will cut your lawn for half the price of the person who
cuts your lawn now." replied boy.
The woman responded that she was very satisfied with the person who was presently cutting her lawn.
The little boy found more perseverance and offered, "Lady, I'll
even sweep your curb and your sidewalk, so on Sunday you will have
the prettiest lawn in all of North Palm beach, Florida."
Again the woman answered in the negative.

With a smile on his face, the little boy replaced the receiver.

The store-owner, who was listening to all this, walked over to the
boy and said, "Son... I like your attitude; I like that positive
spirit and would like to offer you a job."

The little boy replied, "No thanks, I was just checking my
performance with the job I already have. I am the one who is
working for that lady, I was talking to!"

After Holy Week, Here's some Holy Humour

A young boy had just gotten his driver's permit and inquired of his father, if they could discuss his use of the car. His father said he'd make a deal with his son.
"You bring your grades up from a C to a B average, study your Bible a little, and get your hair cut; and we'll talk about the car."
The boy thought about that for a moment, decided he'd settle for the offer and they agreed on it.

After about six weeks his father said, "Son, I've been real proud. You brought your grades up and I've observed that you have been
studying your Bible, but I'm real disappointed you haven't gotten your hair cut."
The young man paused a moment then said, "You know, Dad, I've been thinking about that, and I've noticed in my studies of the Bible that
Samson had long hair, John the Baptist had long hair, Moses had long
hair and there's even a strong argument that Jesus had long hair."

To this his father replied, "Did you also notice they all walked everywhere they went?"

Quote for the Week

In today's fast changing world,
It is not so much what you know anymore that counts
Coz often what you know is old

It is how fast you learn
That SKILL is PRICELESS..

Thought for the Week

Do what you feel in your heart to be right
for you will be criticized anyway

You will be damned if you do
&
damned if you don't

Our LORD has RISEN. ALLELUIA!

Happy are those who have not seen, but yet believe.

Today is your day Lord.
Help us not to forget on this Easter special, that all our celebrations should be to your glory.
